On March 14, Dos Equis will invite drinkers to “Keep It Interesante” with a new campaign that celebrates storytelling. But what you may not know is that they filmed an ad on the same set as the staged moon landing.
That’s right, the beer brand shot “Moon” on the same soundstage where the moon landing was originally faked. The set-design team made sure to match the set, shot by shot, for accuracy.
Chief Marketing Officer Jonnie Cahill was quoted as saying, “When beer drinkers are out at night, we want to encourage them to embellish their stories to keep them interesante. And nothing’s more interesante than shooting on the same set where the moon landing was faked. We think the ad will really appeal to people who love the moon and fake moon landings.”
Look for the ad when it hits screens later this week. We think you’ll agree that by shooting its ad on the same set where the moon landing was faked, Dos Equis has definitely kept things interesante.
Is any of this true? It’s interesante, isn’t it? And really, that’s all that matters.
